I don’t usually share my personal endeavours but Burning Man has 11 amazing principles that I’ve been pondering about how you could implement them in the work place as they create such a fantastic environment. ✨
These principles guide the behavior of participants. While these principles were originally intended for Burning Man, here are some ways that you can use the 11 Burning Man principles at work.
1. Radical Inclusion 🌈
In the workplace, it's important to make everyone feel included, regardless of their background or experience. Encourage collaboration and create a culture of openness and acceptance.
2. Gifting 🎁
Gifting is a key part of Burning Man. Participants are encouraged to give without expecting anything in return. At work, you can apply this principle by giving your time, knowledge, and expertise to others without expecting anything in return.
3. Decommodification 💰
Burning Man is a non-commercial event, and participants are encouraged to leave their money and possessions behind. In the workplace, try to focus on the work itself, rather than the financial rewards that come with it.
4. Radical Self-reliance 🏴☠️
Burning Man encourages participants to be self-reliant and take responsibility for their own well-being. At work, you can apply this principle by taking ownership of your work and being proactive in finding solutions to problems.
5. Radical Self-expression 💃🏻
Burning Man is all about self-expression and creativity. In the workplace, try to find ways to express your individuality and creativity, whether it's through your work or the way you interact with others.
